MATH CHALLENGE HELPS SCHOOL FINANCES
------------------------------------
-- For Immediate Press Release --
In the dual interests of advancing math education and promoting
its products, effective with the release of Version 2.0, JUST FOR
ME SOFTWARE, INC. announces that MATH CHALLENGE, its popular
shareware program for teaching children their math tables, can
now be used without fee in its unmodified state on any computer
owned by a school system, public, private, or parochial.
When using this program in a school system, the only requirement
is that JUST FOR ME SOFTWARE be notified of the usage with a
letter on official school system stationery.
John Koszewnik, President of JUST FOR ME SOFTWARE cites his
rationale for this action as follows:
"For some time now, shareware products have been growing
in popularity and quality, to the point where they
are now as good or better than their commercial
equivalents. I am certain that users of MATH CHALLENGE
will find it to be superior to anything else available.
Nevertheless, many people remain unaware of shareware's
potential. This action is intended to demonstrate the
quality and value of such products, particularly important
in these times of financial constraints within schools."
MATH CHALLENGE program features include:
-- Simple user interface -- with full mouse support for
children input
-- Problems individualized to the pace of each student.
-- Personalized text encouragement for correct answers
(MATH CHALLENGE can accommodate up to 49 students in
one directory).
-- Enticing VGA animal graphics with true photographic quality.
-- Color animation and interesting sound effects.
-- Ability to toggle sound on and off.
-- Ability to "save progress" -- and return to program later.
Please note that individuals using this program on their home
computers must still register their program if they use it beyond
a free 30 day trial day period regardless of whether or not it is
used freely at their school.
John Koszewnik elaborates:
"I sincerely hope that other shareware authors will follow
our example and release their products without fee for use
in school systems. This will spread the word about shareware
while providing a partial solution to the budget crises
facing many of today's school systems."
JUST FOR ME SOFTWARE, INC. is a member of the Association of
Shareware Professionals (ASP). Other shareware products now
available from JUST FOR ME SOFTWARE include DOCTOR CODEMASTER,
BATTLE SKIMMERS, and SIMPLE SIMON'S PHOTO SCRAMBLE. MATH
CHALLENGE, as well as these other products, are all available
from Compuserve, many BBS's, and from all better shareware disk
vendors.
